Are you one who are surprised why Windows 8 taskbar is not opaque? Are you annoyed of Windows 8 transparent taskbar? If you are one of the people who don’t like transparent taskbar in Windows 8. Its quite logical, people say that if there is nowhere transparency in then why trskbar is transparent. It seems ugly and unmatching. Well, Microsoft could answer this and can tell the reason behind it why they left taskbar unchanged(transparent like older version of Windows 7). But what we can do is that we could customize Windows 8 settings according to our choice and ease.
Fortunately there is a tool “Opaque Taskbar” that can disable taskbar aero glass transparency in Windows 8 in a click. It helps to disable Aero glass transparency in Windows 8 taskbar.
Opaque Taskbar is a free and portable application. Just download, extract and run it.
If you want to remove transparency then click on “Disable Taskbar Transparency”. To enable transparency back press “Disable Taskbar Transparency”. Its that simple.
Though this will have effect until you restrart your computer(i.e if you restart your computer, it would not be loaded on next boot in Windows) but if you want to make taskbar opaque all the times then just check the box next to “Disable transparency at Windows startup”
We tested it and it worked fine. If you find any problem or questions, feel free to ask us.
